Monday, July 6th, 2009

Lenore Asbury (American, 1866-1933) was one of Rookwood’s premier artists from 1895 thru the early 1900’s.

This is an example of Rookwood’s Reverse RP Impressed Logo and the Roman Number V for the year of manufacture, 1905. There is also the number 951E for the Shape Number and the letter E for the Size. The letter W incised under this number indicates that the vase is an Iris Glazed Vase. The artist initials “L.A.” stand for Lenore Asbury.
