This 10 inch 1952 Picasso Madoura Plate titled “Goat’s Head in Profile” The plate is stamped with the Madoura and Empreinte Originale de Picasso stamps. It is hand numbered. The plate sold for $6000 in May 2011.

1952 Picasso decorated Madoura ceramic bowl. This piece is called bird under sun and depicts a bird setting on a branch with the sun overhead. This is one of a series of 6 ceramics Picasso had made at this time. The pieces were authorized reproductions made by Madoura with 500 copies produced. This bowl measures 6 ¼” in diameter and is 1 ¾” high. The back in incised with Edition Picasso, Madoura.

It sold for $1,975 in January 2010.
