Van Briggle Bat Vase sold on ebay for $2700

I’ve been looking for a Van Briggle Bat Vase for years … and then a 1916 mulberry version finally came up for auction on ebay. In case you are wondering - I didn’t win 
The 11″ vase sold for $2700 after 14 bids. $2700 is a fair price, which just goes to show that a rare piece of pottery will almost always fetch a good price … even in a recession. I included the 1916 VanBriggle Mark.
I’ll be waiting for the next bat vase … maybe for years!
