This Emile 13″ x 7″ Galle Faience/Tin Glazed Earthenware Cat Figurine c1876-1904 sold for $5568 in February 2010. The cat is hand painted With blue dots, blue hearts and blue fish, has green glass eyes, and is underglaze signed “Emile Galle” and “Nancy.”
The production of faience, (tin glazed earthenware) in Nancy France was commercially successful for Emile Galle. This is due largely because of Galle’s level of interest and involvement working with both designers and artisans, and honing them into an effective working team.

Paul Stankard Botanical Bouquet and Insect Orb Paperweight sells for $3810 in January 2010. This paperweight measures 3 5/16″ and was made by the master lampworker Paul Stankard in 2005. The weight encases three bundles of purple allium flowers with two bumble bees hovering overhead. A “Paul Stankard” signature cane is located in the base of the main green sprig, another “SEED” cane is located at the top of the main green sprig. the lampwoek sets above an opaque white ground.
Libbey Cut Glass Punch Bowl - Columbia Pattern
This Libbey Columbia pattern punch bowl sold for $13,000 in January 2010. It measures 12 inches in diameter and stands 6-5/8 inches in height. It is cut on a thick sparkling clear blank and weighs 14 pounds.The Columbia pattern was designed by William Anderson and patented for Libbey on February 14. 1893. It was exhibited at the World Fair Columbian Exposition in Chicago that same year. Peterson, on page 120 of “Encyclopedia of American Cut and Engraved Glass , Volume I “, shows 2 pieces of Columbia cut glass and states ” It is one of the loveliest and best conceived patterns, using clear “tusks” as one of the motifs. So little of it is available that the acquisition of a single piece is a difficult objective”.
