Weller Pottery - Chase Pattern (Hunt Scene)
Sunday, April 19th, 2009Weller’s Chase Pattern dates from the 1920’s. The pattern shows a vivid white hunt scene. There is generally an English horse and dogs chasing a fox … tho, the fox isn’t visible. I’ve seen the hunt scene painted and white. The base color can be pastel brown, blue, or green. Most often its seen on a dark navy blue.
This 9″ vase is worth an est. $700-$900.

Sunday, April 19th, 2009Weller Pottery: Forest Pattern
Sunday, April 19th, 2009The Weller Forest pattern is one of my favorites. It was designed by Rudolph Lorber, and inspired by countryside scenery that he once witnessed from the window of a train. These are typically matte glazed, but can be found in a high glaze. Rudolph Lorber, an Austrian native, joined Weller in 1905. He created many of Weller’s embossed lines including Woodcraft and Coppertone.
