Rudolph Lorber “RL” artist mark used at Weller

Rudolph Lorber, an Austrian native, joined Weller in 1905 after working as a modeler at the Vance Faience Company in Tiltonville, Ohio. He created many of Weller’s embossed lines until he retired in 1940. His mark “RL” is shown below:

Rudolph Lorber Weller Vase sells for $1300

10 1/4 inches tall Weller etched Rudolph Lorber vase marked RL on the side and has the impressed WELLER block mark on the base sold for $1300 in September 2009. It is etched with a goofy looking fish.

Weller Pottery - Coppertone Frogs

Weller Pottery’s Coppertone pattern produced in the late 1920’s and early 1930’s is absolutely beautiful.  ”The color of old bronze showing irregularly through a verdant green matt.”  Frogs are very desirable, as shown below:

The 4 1/2″ Weller Pottery Coppertone frog on lily pad holding a lotus flower bow sold for $225 in mint condition in August 2009.    But if you were looking for a bargain, this same pottery sold for $121 and $89 in a popular online auction site.

Weller Pottery- Malverne pattern

Weller made the Malverne line between 1918 - 1935.  It looks like a tulip or flower bud and leaves, stretching across the pottery with  pastel yellow, pink and green.

The below pillow vase stands 6 1/2” tall, 7 3/4” wide.  The vase was listed for sale for $280 in mint condition in September 2009.

The below 6 1/2″ tall vase measures 2 3/4″ across the rim, and 2 1/2″ across the base.  The vase was listed for sale for $229 in mint condition in September 2009.

The below shape is  a double handled planter or Jardinière standing 4 1/2″ tall x  6 7/8″ wide  The planter has raised leaves that have a twig attached on a tree bark textured background. These Branches on each leaf rise from the leaf up to the Top and Form the Two Looped Handles on each Side.  The vase was listed for sale for $265 in mint condition in September 2009.

Weller Woodcraft wall pocket with Robin sells for $1000

This Weller Woodcraft wall pocket measures 11″ high by 10″ across. There is a Robin perched in an apple tree.There are two red/yellow apples among green and brown leaves. The central branch bifurcates and the two right and left branches serve as flower holders or small bud vases. There are two hanger holes on either side on the rear. This wallpocket sold for $1000 in August 2009.

This Weller Louwelsa Vase #506 with Baby Chicks sells for $1,038 after 14 bids in August 2009.  (Must be the subject matter of the baby chicks that attracted so many bids) The vase had a hairline in the base.

Hattie Mitchell Auroro Weller Vase sells for $2000

H. Mitchell is Hattie Mitchell born in 1879. She is the older sister of Lilly Mitchell and cousin to (Minnie Mitchell) who both worked for Weller. The base is marked Weller and Auroro.

The vase sold for $2000 in August 2009.
