Friday, October 9th, 2009

8 gallon decorated Ohio Stoneware TAVERN BARREL KEG c. 1850 sells for $1500 in September 2009. Its large size indicates that it would have been used in a Tavern or Hotel to serve a large number of guests. It stands 22″ tall and 10″ across the top and bottom. It has freehand decoration on the front. A full plant with dotted leaves and two blossoms on the top, two large blossoms frame the middle, and a very unique Hops or Barley plant is below the spout.
