1952 Pablo Picasso decorated Madoura ceramic bowl

1952 Picasso decorated Madoura ceramic bowl. This piece is called bird under sun and depicts a bird setting on a branch with the sun overhead. This is one of a series of 6 ceramics Picasso had made at this time. The pieces were authorized reproductions made by Madoura with 500 copies produced. This bowl measures 6 ¼” in diameter and is 1 ¾” high. The back in incised with Edition Picasso, Madoura.

It sold for $1,975 in January 2010.

Pablo Picasso Madoura Ceramic Still Life Plate dated 1952 marked “MADE IN FRANCE” “MADOURA PLEIN FEU” “EMPREINTE ORIGINALE DE PICASSO” and measuring 13″ W x 13″ L x 1 3/8″ H sold for $3050 in January 2010.  The plate features a double handled mug on a double handled tray with flowers, dated 22-12-52 (mirror image)
