Catalina Clay Products Company Vases
Catalina Clay Products Company operated from 1927 through 1937 on Catalina Island off the coast of California. Pottery and tile were made on the island. The pottery is highly prized by California Pottery collectors. Cubs fans might be interested in this pottery, too. William Wrigley, Jr. was key in starting the pottery company. The Chicago Cubs, also owned by Wrigley, took spring training from ca. 1921-1951 on Catalina Island, absent the war years of 1942-45.
This two handled matte green 14 1/2″ long by 6 1/2″ wide vase with chips sold for $3200 in May 2009.

Was this auctioned on ebay or elsewhere? Do you know an artist or age for this piece?

Was this auctioned on ebay or elsewhere? Why do you think this sold for such a high price?

Hi Rachel,
The vase is rare in both size and color. It sold on ebay, which is typically a deep discount from what you would pay at Rago’s or any other more reputable auction house.
