The Fox family were among the finest of the North Carolina Potters in the 19th century.  This Hiner Fix jug is a great example - with a great 0range peel (fly ash) glaze.  The jug is inscribed “H. FOX” below “2″. It measures 9.5″ tall and has its original corn-cob stopper.The neck has grooved banding and the handle has the “thumb-print” impression.  This jug sold for $1900 on ebay in 04/2009.
