Hello, I have recently consigned a piece of American Art Pottery to David Rago Auctions to be sold 9/26/09
The vase has A fabulous underglaze decoration of dafffodils signed and dated 77 and signed twice by John Bennett. . This would predate the Mclaughlin underglaze decoration pieces by one year. I am of the opinion that this piece is the pretty much the birth of the American Arts and Crafts period in stylized hand painted underglaze American Art Pottery.
Thank you, Kevin J. Kille
